Induk KUD Lead Historic Signing Ceremony to Advance Food Production Developments in Indonesia
Jakarta, Induk KUD – Induk KUD Indonesia Headquarters recently hosted a landmark signing ceremony, marking a significant advancement in Indonesia’s quest for sustainable agriculture and food security. As the world’s largest rural cooperative, Induk KUD welcomed dignitaries from Brunei, China, Malaysia, South Africa, Switzerland, and the United States to forge transformative partnerships aimed at strengthening the nation’s agricultural resilience.
The event was led by Mr. Portasius Nggedi, Chairman of Induk KUD, and DR. Ferry Yulianto, Secretary of the Board of Advisors, representing Mr. Prabowo Subianto, Chairman of the Board of Advisors and President-Elect of Indonesia. Their participation underscored Induk KUD’s commitment to advancing sustainable agriculture and ensuring food security for Indonesia and beyond.
A key highlight was the signing of a pivotal agreement between Mr. Nggedi and Dr. Nasir Latif, Chairman of FarmFresh Industries. This agreement marks a milestone in agricultural development with the formation of a joint venture aimed at managing and financing the Indonesia School Meal Programs. The initiative is designed to provide nutritious meals to youth, supporting their health and development while laying the groundwork for sustainable food security.
Additionally, the ceremony announced the establishment of the Brunei Food Valley, a comprehensive farming initiative spanning 1.2 million hectares focused on agriculture, aquaculture, and livestock production. This project supports the Indonesia School Meal Program and represents a major step toward food self-sufficiency and enhanced food security for both Indonesia and Brunei Darussalam.
The partnership between Induk KUD and FarmFresh Industries is a strategic alliance dedicated to tackling food security and agricultural development challenges. By pooling resources and efforts, these initiatives are set to make a substantial impact on community well-being and prosperity in both countries.
Falco Global Partners also introduced the Indonesia Next Generation Fund, aimed at empowering local farmers and promoting sustainable agricultural practices for inclusive economic growth. Verdana International will support the Induk KUD joint venture by leveraging carbon finance to boost food security, while Alcove Investment Management will collaborate to develop halal trade and investment opportunities for Indonesia’s benefit.
Mr. Portasius Nggedi reaffirmed Induk KUD’s dedication to advancing food production and security, stating, “Induk KUD plays a crucial role in shaping the future of agriculture in Indonesia and beyond. Through strategic partnerships, we are committed to ensuring a prosperous and sustainable future for all.”

Dr. Ferry Joko Yuliantono highlighted a flagship program offering free meals and milk in schools to boost student nutrition and stimulate the national economy. He also noted President-Elect Prabowo Subianto’s commitment to achieving carbon neutrality, including efforts to reduce carbon and water footprints and promote bioplastics.
